ECUST Co-Hosted the 15th National Symposium on the Molecular and Structural Characterization of Polymers

Recently, the 15th National Symposium on the Molecular and Structural Characterization of Polymers took place in Shanghai. As the third large-scale offline symposium organized by the Polymer Materials Analytical Technology and Characteristic Methods Committee of the Chinese Chemical Society, the event attracted 595 representatives from 30 provinces and cities.

Renowned scholars, experts, and young scientists from both domestic and international polymer academia and industry gathered to discuss the academic frontiers and latest advancements in the field of polymer characterization.

Professor Jian Xu from Shenzhen University served as the conference chairman, and Professor Jiaping Lin from ECUST acted as the secretary-general. During the opening ceremony, Professor Lin hosted the event, Professor Xu delivered an opening address, and Huifeng Wang, Professor and Vice President from ECUST gave a welcome speech on behalf of the co-host.

The symposium featured a main forum and eight sub-forums. Topics covered polymer molecular and structural characterization, polymer solutions, sols and gels, surfaces and interfaces, structure-property relationships, advanced characterization methods, functional polymers, theoretical simulation and artificial intelligence, and a graduate student forum.

The event included 6 plenary lectures, 95 invited talks, 158 oral presentations, and 48 posters. Attendees shared their latest research, discussed front-line challenges, and promoted the advancement of polymer science.

At the closing ceremony, Professor Xu summarized the event and expressed gratitude to ECUST and the sponsors. Professor Zhibo Li from Zhejiang University, who serves as the Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Chemical Society, emphasized the importance of characterization technologies. He encouraged researchers to utilize national large-scale scientific facilities and integrate artificial intelligence to aid the development of high-performance polymer materials.

The conference awarded 12 excellent graduate student presentation prizes and 10 excellent poster prizes, further driving basic and applied research in polymer science.
